Last week we presented you with a pictorial
overview of the eMac. This week we take a close up look
at the simple detailing of the machine.
The eMac does not have the warmth, or youthful
spontaneity of the G4 iMac. Instead there is a cold formality
to the machine. It is the elder patrician. Elegant and remote,
it becomes more approachable as you spend more time with it.
On to the pictorial ...
A front view, focusing on the two speakers and the
Combo Drive cover in the middle.

A close up on one of the speaker covers.
The sound coming out of these eMacs is one of the best
I have heard from built in speakers. Apparently Apple
built its Pro Speakers into the machine.

Tickle the keyboard and the eMac will stick out its
tongue at you. The Combo Drive reads DVDs at 8x, writes
CD-R discs at 12x, writes CD-RW at 8x, reads CDs at
32x

The complement of ports on the right side
of the machine includes 3 USB, 2 FireWire and a Mini-VGA
output port for hooking up an additional display (mirroring
only). Further along to the right is an awkwardly placed
power button

This is a close-up on the back of the
machine showing the cooling fan. Apple's attention to
detail shows in the fact that the fan too is an identical
white color to that of the body of the eMac
