The Question:
Hi,
I have a couple requests if you could perform tests between the current high-end 2009 iMac 3.06GHz Intel Core 2 Duo and the 2009 MacPro Single 2.66GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon.

The Answer ...
As you can see below, in fundamental processing ability the Mac Pro will blow the iMac out of the water. However the Processor test we run, utilizes the full amount of whatever processing capacity the machine has. You should note not all applications can take full advantage of multiple processors, which is why you see some fall off in the Photoshop score. The bottom line is that the Mac Pro offers greater flexibility if you have a demanding work flow. If you don't need all that ability to crunch data, the iMac is a fine alternative, that appears to be equal in terms of hard drive performance and graphics scores.
