Performance
In Performance the Power Mac Dual Core G5 /2.0 GHz is ....

Processor Single - 17% faster
Processor Dual - 16% faster
Graphics Card - 163% faster
Graphics Processor - 6% faster
Graphics Gaming - 200% faster

** This application does not run native on the Intel processor

A note on performance: The Dual Core machine is clearly much faster in certain respects, but it maybe overkill for the type of work you do. If you are into demanding games the Mac mini is not the machine for you. Photoshop currently runs poorly on the Intel chip, but that should change soon, once the application is updated.

The processor & graphics card scores above are based on CineBench 9.5 (email us to request the actual point scores for these machines)

I would like to see a test between the intel Core Dual Mac mini 1.66GHz vs. the G5 Dual 2.0GHz PowerPC.

I want to be able to use it for basic home use as well as some graphic design and digital painting.

Thanks! Great site.
